Bon Temps Wins the Reef Cup!

February 3rd, 2010

In this picture, Reef Cup angler Mike Battista reels in one of the 21 sailfish caught and released on my boat in the Reef Cup 2010.  I let the owner of Ocean Yachts, the manufacturer of the boat, and his captain and mate run the boat down to Key Largo to fish the tournament since they did not have an Ocean demo to use this year.  J3 and Capt. Gene – looking forward to doing some fishing with you guys this summer!  Next time the boat wins a tournament, I want to BE THERE!

Got the iPhone GS!

June 20th, 2009

pr_iphone_3gs_f1

I bought my original iPhone on June 29, 2007 – the first day they were released.  After two years of dedicated service, I have replaced it with the new iPhone GS.  Three words: SO MUCH FASTER.  And one question to myself: Why the hell didn’t I do this sooner!  I hadn’t fully realized how nice 3G data service would be.  Updates and review coming soon.

Relay For Life

Many of you are aware that I just lost my father to cancer on 2/10/2009.  He was the most amazing man I’ve ever known, and he will be missed more than I can express in words.  I’ll be writing a separate blog entry about that in a few days.  As I’ve gone through the emotional oscillations associated with an event like this, I noticed one unexpected emotion: anger.  I’m angry that I lost him to cancer – a disease that has received billions of dollars in research funding and still no way to save my Dad.  As a result, I’ve taken up a personal fight against cancer by joining a Relay For Life team to raise money for the American Cancer Society.  You can read about my personal fight here:

Finally Updating the Website Again!

January 27th, 2009

I know, I know, it’s been a long time since I’ve written anything but life gets busy, goes in unexpected directions, and here I am months later writing my latest post.  I have hundreds of photos to upload over the next few days so keep your eyes on the Gallery for the latest.  Here is on of my favorites from the Culpeper airfest 2008

Norm’s Ride in an L39!

October 17th, 2008

The day after Keven flew the L39 (see below) was the 2008 Culpeper AirFest.  I spent the day with my staff watching all of the performances, and at the end I got to fly the L39 too!  What an amazing machine.  Here are a few of the pictures – see the Gallery for full AirFest coverage.

Keven’s Ride in an L39!

October 13th, 2008

The day before the 2008 Culpeper Airfest Keven and I were at the airport watching all the airplanes arrive.  One thing led to another and Keven got to go flying in an L39 Albatross Fighter Trainer.  Click on the link below for the video.

Time Flies!

December 27th, 2007

Well, everyone gets busy and the next thing you know 9 months have slipped by since my last blog entry.  Boy how things have changed for me!  New job, which includes a new place to live on weekends.  Check out the Culpeper Loft album in the gallery.  Ryan is healthy and happy and doing pretty well in school, and Piper is as sweet as ever.  Keep in touch with us and let us know how all of you are doing.  Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of our friends and family.

New Images

March 1st, 2007

Well, things get insanely busy and next thing you know it’s been 6 months since your last blog entry.  Sorry about that.  I’ve been busier than ever, with work consuming the majority of my time.  Life’s not supposed to be this way, but in our area you either work like this or you don’t work at all – with the latter not being an option for me.  I do get away for weekends when I can, and pictures from Thanksgiving 2006 up until now are now up in the gallery for you to view.  Thanksgiving, my 40th birthday in Nov, Christmas, New Year’s Eve, the Outer Banks in Jan, South Beach for Art Deco Weekend – all up for you to look through.  Please comment and let us know what you think.

Things are great with Ryan and Piper as well, and we’re all looking forward to the coming spring and summer.  Trips to Lake Anna, shows at Nissan Pavillion, fishing the 54, fun times with family and friends, and and our eventual escape from city life breathes new life as we look toward the coming months.
